A massive manhunt for a man suspected of stabbing to death his six-year-old sister, their mother and her partner is entering the second day.
More than 100 officers, some armed, have been combing Didcot, Oxfordshire, and its surrounding areas for suspect Jed Allen, who has a distinctive spider tattoo on his left hand.
The bodies of Derin Jordon, 6, Janet Jordon, 48, and her partner Philip Howard, 44, were found in a house in Vicarage Road, Didcot, on Saturday night.
Chris Ward, from the Thames Valley Police Major Crime Unit, said the incident was a "tragic and sad event".
He described Allen as white and well-built.
Although the suspect - who is known to police - is not considered a danger to the public, officers are asking anyone who sees him not to approach him and to contact them instead.
Mr Ward said a "very small number of armed officers" are assisting with that search, and added the measure was taken "purely for the safety of the searching officers".
Pictures on Allen's Instagram account show him posing with three knives between his fingers, imitating comic book hero Wolverine. In others he is pictured holding a large hunting knife and knuckleduster.
