Hong Kong: The centre of Asia’s art boom?

Art Basel has again arrived in Hong Kong – but what are the best and brightest works on display? From Warhol to the latest Chinese art, Linda Kennedy finds out.

One of the world’s biggest art fairs has arrived in Hong Kong, bringing works from more than 3,000 artists to the Asian city.
Art Basel Hong Kong is the region’s largest annual art festival and has positioned itself firmly at the centre of Asia’s art boom. Now in its third year, it attracts gallerists wanting to sell big-name pieces and wealthy buyers looking to add to their collections.
It’s not just a show for buyers, though – last year’s show attracted more than 65,000 art fans, who wandered more than 30,000 sq m of convention space taking in some of the top contemporary works from Asia and further afield.
Linda Kennedy takes a tour of the fair for BBC Culture to find the most exciting pieces on display.
