Cyprus Struck By 5.6 Magnitude Earthquake

Cyprus has been hit by a magnitude 5.6 earthquake, the US Geological Survey has reported.
 The USGS put the epicentre of the quake just off the Mediterranean island’s west coast, about 4 miles (7km) from the village of Peyia.

No probe into Deputy Attorney General's claims, says President



President of the Republic Nicos Anastasiades revoked on Wednesday his intention to examine the possibility of appointing a criminal investigator to look into allegations made by Deputy Attorney General, Rikkos Erotokritou, about corruption.

Attorney General Costas Clerides, however, has said that Erotokritou will be able to present his claims in Court.

Paphos gastronomy center its a wonderful project that is going to operate soon in the Main Paphos Market. It's going to offer for free Cyprus Traditional Delicacies in order to familiarize the locals and the visitors with the Cypriot cooking culture... The organization is under the Restaurant Union of Paphos and we are expecting to give a boost to the local economy.

A unexpectable surprise occurred on Tuesday in Kato Paphos when beautiful tourist from Russia took her clothes to be photographed naked with the famous pelican "Coco". It was for sure a Highly inappropriate spectacle for minors, but Tourists and others really enjoyed watching the “ hot poses” of the Blond beauty

Great success of the Kolios winery


To the international wine competition in Thesalloniki 2 weeks ago the 2 wines of Kolios winery Persefoni white, made of cypriot variety Xinisteri, and Saint Fotios red, again from cypriot variety Maratheftiko, both have been awarded with gold metal, which was one more success of the winery to such important wine competitions with these 2 wines not only in Cyprus but also to abroad by proving the excellent abilities and the incomparable high quality that these 2 varieties have. 
Persefoni and Saint Fotios are 2 wines that will be definitely adored by anybody that will try them!!!

Hellenic Bank to reduce base rates by 1%



The Hellenic Bank concurs with the Central Bank of Cyprus` proposal to reduce the cost of lending through a reduction in interest rates.

In a statement, Hellenic Bank’s CEO, Bert Pijls, said that the Bank "welcomes the proposal that Central Bank’s Governor extended yesterday to us, which we find valuable and constructive", adding "we commit our support towards its implementation".

Cyprus' former Interior Minister and 4 others guilty of money laundering and unlawful payments



An Athens court has found former Cyprus` Interior Minister Dinos Michaelides, his son Michalis and three others guilty of receiving kickbacks.

All defendants were also found guilty of money laundering in relation to the purchase of TOR-M1 anti-aircraft missiles by Greece during Akis Tsohatzopoulos’ term as Greek defence minister.

Cypriots gather outside EU House to demonstrate solidarity with Greece



Cypriots and Greek residing in Cyprus gathered  under light rain and despite the cold weather outside the EU House in Nicosia demonstrating their support and solidarity towards the Greek people and the government of Greece ahead of the crucial Eurogroup meeting in Brussels, which takes place today to discuss the Greek debt crisis.
