Respect for each other is a principle that must govern relations of between countries, independent of size, population, financial and military strength of each country. This principle, as well as many others, Britain , in the case of Cyprus , tramples over and for one more time behaves as if she is the colonial power of the island. President Anastasiades paid an official visit to Russia . The visit was a success. He and president Putin signed more than ten agreements, that relate to facilities offered to the Russian military fleet at the Limassol harbour and elaborated further on the military cooperation between Russia and the Republic of Cyprus . The upgrading and revitalisation of the Cyprus-Russian relations come as a result of the anti-Cypriot attitude by the United States of America and more so by Britain.
When Turkey invaded, with its “Barbaros” the Cyprus EEZ with its war ships and occupied a big area (of the Cyprus EEZ), the United States of America who regard us as their “ strongeststrategic ally in the area of the Eastern Mediterranean ”, pretended they did not understand what happened. Their Ambassador in Nicosia totally ignored the Turkish invasion and his only preoccupation was for the resumption of the inter-communal dialogue. Britain from the other hand, who is also a guarantor power, supposed to be, of the Republic of Cyprus, recognises from one hand the right of the RoC for research in its own EEZ but… up to there. The indignation, the anger and the disappointment of President Anastasiades are justified, since for one more time he gave faith to his “ friends” who for one more time deceived him with loud chatter noises.
Russian support, political, financial and military, under the present conditions and taking into consideration the Turkish threats, the situation in the Middle East and the crisis in the Eurozone and Ukraine, reinforce and support Cyprus.
Britain has been annoyed! The Foreign Office in statements by its officials from one hand recognises the right of the Republic of Cyprus to act in order to secure its interests but from the other and at the same time refers to the crisis in Ukraine, to the unity of positions by the member countries of the EU and with unprecedented righteousness (hypocricy) indicates: “ Therefore, under the present problems, it is not the time to offer hand of friendship to Russia until she shows willingness to abide with the Minsk Agreement. We insist thatRussia must show its commitment to the agreement before we start normalising our relations with her”, a Foreign Office source told theCyprus Press Agency.
Furthermore, hypocrite British MPs, have characterised the agreement betweenNicosia and Moscow for the usage of Cypriot harbours by the Russian Navy as “worrying and disappointing”.

The British hypocritical hysterias should calm down, for two serious reasons. First, the Republic of Cyprus as a country member of the United Nations and the European Union has every right to defend its state interests and the survival of its population with whatever means deems fit and no decadent colonialist has any right to interfere. Secondly, the last country that has any right to react is Britain (and in parallel the USA ). For two reasons. First because for 40 years Turkey invaded and occupies 37% of the Cypriot and European land and Britain has still to condemn, even verbally. The country of Attila ( Turkey ) continuously attacks and threatens Cyprus and the otherwise chatterbox Foreign Office confines itself in advocating advices of how to return to the negotiations for a solution, which (solution) bears its own finger marks. Secondly, Britain goes out of its way to refer to a Russian invasion and occupation of Crimea . But her tongue does not turn to say the same about the Turkish invasion of Cyprus .
Turkey invaded and occupied a large part of the Cypriot and European EEZ. Britain, whilst screaming her head off about the Russian invasion in Ukraine, does not understand one bit about the violation of International Law in Cyprus . Whilst Britain calls hypocritically on Nicosia not to show hand of friendship to Russia until she is committed to what has been agreed, in the case of Cyprus for 40 years ( Britain ) is suffering from an incurable tongue twister.
Such righteousness : Such hypocrisy! Such British wretchedness, such indecency that, since 1960, has not ceased to demonstrate hostility towards theRepublic ofCyprus . For 40 yearsBritain the guarantor, tolerates the crimes and the invasion and occupation ofCyprus by the Attila (Turkey ) and it does not bother her. On the contrary,Britain helps Turkey in every way in its horrible plan. Now… is worried (Cyprus is taking care of its interests and finds support inBritain ) because the Republic ofRussia . MESSAGE TO LONDON FROM THE REPUBLIC OF CYPRUS : THE AGREEMENTS SERVE OUR INTERESTS
The agreements signed between Cyprus and Russia during the visit of the President of the Republic in Moscow, serve the interests of the Republic of Cyprus and should not create reactions, the Government Spokesman Nicos Christodoulides stated in a response to London’s reaction to the agreements signed between President Anastasiades and Vladimir Putin.
Mr. Nicos Christodoulides did not hide the fact that Nicosia was annoyed by the fact that the United Kingdom did not support Nicosia ’s call for strong notes to Turkey for the invasion of the sovereign rights of the Republic of Cyprus .
Mr. Nicos Christodoulides stressed that the EU partners had been informed ahead of the visit for all that was to take place in Moscow . At the same time he noted that under the newdevelopments between Moscow and Ankara President Anastasiades’ visit served Nicosia ’s objective for the creation of conditions that will allow the re-start of the negotiations for the Cyprus problem.
The Russian position in the Security Council already satisfy Nicosia , although a stronger involvement is anticipated.
It is with interest that Moscow ’s next steps are in waiting as regards Energy, as information is in hand that it should not be excluded for Russian companies to express interest in the sea finds in the Cypriot EEZ.
