A mother who was beheaded by a Bulgarian schizophrenic as she shopped in a supermarket in Tenerife had no chance of defending herself, an inquest heard today.
Retired road safety worker Jennifer Mills-Westley, aged 60 and originally from Norwich, was shopping in a Chinese-owned store in the resort of Los Cristianos on May 13, 2011, when she was attacked.

Make-or-break talks between Greek and EU finance ministers collapsed last night after just three hours – with Athens rejecting the latest bailout offer as ‘absurd’.
The current bailout runs out in two weeks, and the EU had originally said Greece would have to demand an extension to the loan by yesterday.

Mother left her two children aged 10 and 13 home alone for THREE WEEKS while she went on a holiday abroad


A mother left her two children at home without food or heat while she went on a three-week trip abroad.
The youngsters one aged 10 and 13, were left to fend for themselves while their mother attended a family wedding in Nigeria.
It is understood they had continued to go to school while she was away but when officers visited the home, they found the house was in an unkempt condition while the children had no food or heating.

The force is now investigating whether he was responsible for either, or both, of the shootings, which occurred at a Jewish synagogue and a local cafe within hours of each other on Saturday.

Cyprus' former Interior Minister and 4 others guilty of money laundering and unlawful payments



An Athens court has found former Cyprus` Interior Minister Dinos Michaelides, his son Michalis and three others guilty of receiving kickbacks.

All defendants were also found guilty of money laundering in relation to the purchase of TOR-M1 anti-aircraft missiles by Greece during Akis Tsohatzopoulos’ term as Greek defence minister.
