Brave shoppers have been filmed chasing after brazen thieves armed with sledgehammers who raided a jewellers in broad daylight.
The pair had just carried out a smash and grab raid on Arthur Kay and Bro jewellers in Market Street in Manchester.
But as they attempt to speed away furious shoppers move towards them, hurling abuse.
One can be heard to say ‘Got you Got you mate’ as the raiders’ lime green Kawasaki motorbike stalls.
The pillion passenger, who has just smashed the window of the store with a sledgehammer, has to try twice to jump back on the bike.
He looks over his shoulder as a shopper moves towards him filming him on a mobile phone.
Another video shows a shopper throwing a missile at the robbers as they make a get away, hitting the helmet of one.
Other shoppers then jump out of the way as the rider starts the machine and accelerates away through a taxi rank.
Earlier, witnesses saw the crooks use sledgehammers to smash in the jewellers shop window.
Then the pillion passenger was seen grabbing armfuls of stock from the display inside before getting back on the lime green Kawasaki bike and speeding off.
One adjacent shop worker, 19, who did not want to be named, said the thugs had arrived separately at the scene, the Manchester Evening News reported.
She said: "First we heard revving and I came outside and saw a green motorbike driving up the road.
"It kept on revving until it had scared everyone away from outside the jewellers.
"Another guy then came from the opposite direction, got his hammer and started smashing the window.
"He hit it a few times until it had properly smashed.
"Once they had made the hole big enough he grabbed what he could from the display.
